Looking up a child's detail information with a barcode scanner
Note: You must have a barcode scanner attached to a check in station to use this function.
If you want to look up child detail information when a child is checked in you can look them up quickly by simply scanning the barcode on the child’s label from the check in screen. KidCheck will immediately provide you with parent and guardian contact information, medical and allergy details, and allow you to send an SMS text message to the parent if they’ve enabled you to do so.
SMS Text Messaging
Note: SMS text messaging is a guardian enabled feature. You will only be able to send text messages to guardians who have enabled it in their KidCheck account.
SMS text messages are a great communication tool and is part of the Standard and Premium editions. There is no additional cost to your organization to use text messaging, but because standard text message fees may apply to the guardian and as such, this is a guardian controlled feature. If the guardian has enable text messaging in their account settings, you will be able to send them notifications by simply scanning the barcode on the child’s label, placing the cursor into the field next to the guardians name, and typing in your message and selecting "Send SMS".
If a guardian does not have SMS text messaging enabled, there will not be a field next to their name.
Looking up information without a scanner
To
look up a child without a barcode scanner an administrator must first
exit check in mode and go into the "People" section of KidCheck. There you can search the
child and view guardian information. SMS text messaging for
parents is not available from the people section.
