Network and Firewall Settings for Government Buildings and Schools
Overview
In government buildings and schools, strict network and firewall settings can prevent KidCheck Kiosk and ExpressHub devices from connecting to KidCheck servers. This may result in:
- Network errors on client devices.
- Failed check-ins and label printing.
- ExpressHub unable to establish a “connected” KidCheck Socket Status.
To resolve these issues, update your network security settings as follows.
Recommended Updates
Domains to Allow
Ensure the following domains are whitelisted for outbound connections:
- mobileapi.kidcheck.com
- clientapi.kidcheck.com
- api.kidcheck.com
- go.kidcheck.com
Alternatively, use a wildcard to allow all KidCheck subdomains:
*.kidcheck.com
Ports to Open
Update firewall rules to permit outbound traffic on these ports for KidCheck servers:
- 80 (HTTP)
- 443 (HTTPS)
These changes should enable seamless connectivity. If issues persist, consult your IT administrator or contact KidCheck Support (208-538-2000, support@kidcheck.com) for further assistance.
