Easter is one of the most joyful and highly attended celebrations in children’s ministry. With larger crowds, special activities, and lots of moving parts, safety must be a top priority. From egg hunts to check-in lines, a little preparation goes a long way in creating a fun, secure experience for kids, volunteers, staff, and families.

Here are ten essential Easter safety tips.

1. Strengthen Your Check-In Process

Whether you use an electronic solution or a manual process, you must have a clearly defined check-in and check-out process. This guarantees that every child is properly registered, released only to authorized guardians, documented in attendance records, and that medical data (such as allergies) and current contact information are accessible.

2. Prepare for Increased Attendance

Plan ahead by adjusting room capacities, adding extra volunteers, and ensuring proper adult-to-child ratios are maintained at all times.

3. Clearly Label Allergies

Candy and snacks are everywhere during Easter celebrations. Be proactive by asking parents about allergies at check-in, and clearly label children with dietary restrictions, either manually or by printing the information on the name tag.
