KidCheck Secure Children's Check-In Shares The Child Protection Policy

We recently delivered a presentation on the Child Protection Policy (CPP), focusing on how to create, update, and implement an effective CPP. We shared key components and how it fosters a culture of safety, discussed ways to overcome common barriers, outlined an action plan with next steps, and provided relevant resources.

The end goal was to provide a clear understanding of the overall purpose of a CPP, a practical framework, and, no matter where someone is in the process, a place to start.

It’s important to note what a CPP can do for your organization and why you should dedicate some of your limited time and resources to making yours the best it can be. Here are a few benefits to consider:

  • Confirms that everyone working with children undergoes thorough screening. Screening is essential because it prevents easy access to children, adds a layer of protection, and discourages inappropriate behavior.
  • Ensures a child is never alone with an adult.
  • Eliminates the grey area when working with children. Meaning it offers a defined set of working principles that everyone can follow without any subjective interpretation.
  • Decreases isolation, which child predators rely on to offend.
  • Increases accountability, reducing the risk of incidents because there is always more than one pair of eyes on every situation.
